    Your role:

    In this permanent role, you will be appointed to the rank of Able Seaman for a fixed-term of four years, commencing October 2021.

    In this exciting role, you'll work in a dynamic team environment to prepare quality food. It's fast paced and feel-good, with you being a key part in keeping morale of your shipmates at all levels.

    Teamwork is an essential part of the role. You'll work in a tight-knit team where everyone has each other's backs. There are also many opportunities for career growth and travel, including the chance to diversify your cooking skills by taking additional courses in subjects like cheese making and baking.

    Some of your duties will include:

    • Preparing, cooking and serving a variety of food
    • Developing menus ashore and at sea with a wide range of fresh ingredients
    • Catering for fine dining and hospitality events for dignitaries and high ranking officers
    • Participate in safe work and food-handling practices in accordance with the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point principles

    Salary:

    Upon completion of your initial military and initial employment training, you'll enjoy a competitive starting salary package of $71,040 including service and uniform allowances.

    In addition to your salary, you will receive generous superannuation, housing subsidies and free medical and dental care.
