Are you a Finance / Accounting Student looking to start a graduate role in 2024? We need your energy to help decarbonise Aotearoa and safeguard the planet for future generations.

As our Finance Graduate, you will embark on an exciting career path within the Finance function. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of financial management, analysis, and risk. You will work closely with seasoned finance professionals, participate in challenging tasks including projects, and develop the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in your career within the Finance function. To achieve this, you will undertake rotations within our Finance functions including Financial and Management Accounting.

Our Graduate Development Programme is committed to providing a great foundation where you’ll be trained, supported, and mentored along with providing exciting challenges for you to reach your full potential. You will work with passionate members of the Contact Energy team who are excited to share their knowledge of the energy industry with you, we can guarantee no two days will be the same!

The Graduate Development Programme commences in February 2024 and is an 18-month rotational programme. At the conclusion of the programme, you will transition into a permanent role within the business.

The foundation you’ll bring that will allow you to make the most of this opportunity:

• Be in the final year of your degree or recently graduated a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Finance or Economics or related fields.
• Strong Excel experience and a learning mindset to pick up new systems.
• Interested in the energy sector.
• Passionate about the environment and our strategy to decarbonise Aotearoa.
• Are curious by nature and enjoy solving problems.
• Bring strong communication skills, including written, verbal and listening.
• Enjoy working as part of a team, building relationships, and working collaboratively.
