What You’ll Achieve

As a Technical Content Developer, you will work with developers and software engineers, project management, and product support professionals to provide information about key product features, use cases, and support areas.

You’ll be responsible for creating and publishing product content that informs, educates, and empowers customers to use Dell technology products. The content you develop will provide real value to the product and its customers.

You will

• Create and maintain accurate, clear, concise, and timely technical content for a highly technical product. Work closely with engineers and other stakeholders to understand requirements, gather information, and translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly content.
• Dive in to understand not just how the product works, but why it matters, and the value it adds. Understand key IT processes and methodologies when developing a hardware or software product, including Agile.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and with other writers to address customer feedback, maintain internal process documentation, and work on strategic initiatives. Use software and issue-tracking tools to verify the accuracy of your work in collaboration with a more senior writer.
• Keep up to date on changes in our offerings, customer use cases, and support issues. Adapt to a global, dynamic, team-based environment with a willingness to manage competing priorities and to learn and grow.
• Proactively solve challenging problems and think of new ways to deliver better content to our customers. Demonstrate your initiative and participate in process improvement activities.

Essential Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a technical writing/information development environment, preferably in the software industry.
• BA/BS in Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Excellent technical writing skills, including the use of DITA, Simple English, minimalism, and terminology management techniques.
• Experience with structured authoring, component content management systems and tools, and version control.
• Strong technical aptitude, ability to analyze specifications, research technical concepts, and communicate them clearly and precisely in plain language. Strong interpersonal skills.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience in creating graphics and/or videos for use in technical documentation.
• Knowledge of user-centered product writing
