We are helping [kids] discover opportunities to learn and nurture their potential, explore the world around them and continue to reach their dreams.

I am a graduate of Bachelor of Arts Major in Sociology from UST. I took up education units to qualify for the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), which I passed in 2003. After which, I earned a Certificate for Early Childhood Care and Development. I have 9 years of experience in teaching Preschool and 4 years in Grade School. I am a candidate for a Master of Arts in Education Management.

Being a teacher is beyond preparing a lesson plan, teaching in the classroom, supervising extracurricular activities, and communicating with parents. We put on so many hats every day that sometimes we are a counsellor, other times we are a nurse, and more often we are a friend, a mother, a coach, a cheerleader, and many more. But no matter how many hats I put on, every day is always fulfilling.

Working in Kids Haven Intervention and Learning Center, Inc. gave me another experience I never thought I would have. Having no formal education on how to handle children with special needs, I was able to adapt through the constant guidance and group discussions with other professionals in the field. Kids Haven is a place where teachers grow as well as their students.

I am very happy and proud to be a part of the KH team for almost a decade now. I believe that we are doing something positive for our students and their family. We are helping them discover opportunities to learn and nurture their potential, explore the world around them and continue to reach their dreams.
