We are excited to offer two scholarships to Mining Engineering students to assist with study expenses and access opportunities to accelerate their development & skills within the mining industry.   

As part of this scholarship, selected candidates will receive two instalments (2 x $4,000) at completion of each semester. In addition, you will have the opportunity to build rapport and create relationships within the industry, receive a placement for our vacation program and be exposed to a range of mining projects. Successful completion of the program also provides you with the opportunity to be considered for a permanent role with Thiess as part of our Graduate Program. 

About you

  • A current fulltime, undergraduate student in your second year (or later) studying a degree course in mining engineering at a recognised university in Australia 
  • Able to maintain a GPA of 4.5 or higher 
  • Available to complete a 12-week vacation work placement with Thiess (prior to graduation) 
  • Committed to joining Thiess as part of our graduate program? 
  • Eligible to work in Australia 
  • Able to demonstrate commitment to Thiess’ shared group principles of Integrity, Accountability, Innovation and Delivery 
  • Free from a bond or commitment to any other employer
